About Holistic Nutrition Therapy

What we Know: Diet Impacts Well-Being

Holistic Nutrition Therapy is all about finding what foods to eat for YOU. A wide range of variables affects YOUR health. These include emotional and environmental stressors, sleep, exercise, hormones, diet and more. Identifying the right combination of food and supplements for your bio-individuality is a comprehensive process and a one-size-fits-all solution rarely results in success.

There is strong research evidence that connects diet and the well-being. Changing your diet can help with LOTS of pesky problems. Everyday, at Healthy Nest we see how diet matters—figuring out general digestive problems, digestive food intolerance, going gluten-free or dairy-free, smoothing over blood sugar imbalance, increasing mental clarity, addressing signs and symptoms of ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia. Eating the right foods can even strengthen your immune system, and minimize your allergies.

WHAT WE DO

At Healthy Nest, we assess what you are eating with a critical eye toward nutrient density, rhythm, positive habits and mindfulness and balance. Then, we start making small food change suggestions.  Changes are mutually agreed upon and layer over time. So, in no time, diet is significantly improved, and we are well on our way toward new habits and meeting your health goals.

Exactly HOW do we do this? The answer is with grace, patience and experience with what works. We have collected a large database of delicious healthful and clean recipes and menu plans. We have good food ideas and short-cuts that make food and lifestyle changes doable and accessible.

The Healthy Nest Natural Weight Loss approach is targeted and multi-faceted. Our goals are better nutrition, pointed meal planning and nutritional analysis, elimination of food allergies and digestive problems, and better balance.

Clean, Easy, Protein, Fiber, & Nutrient Dense
Lentil Walnut Pate
Modified from Clean Food

1 cup brown lentils
½ tsp. salt
2 cups water
1 cup walnut pieces
1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
2 onions, chopped
1 tsp. raw apple cider vinegar
A couple of tablespoons of good extra virgin quality olive oil

Rinse lentils and place in a pot with water and salt.  Cover and bring to a boil on high heat.  Reduce and simmer 35-40 minutes until water is absorbed.  Remove from heat.

Chop walnuts and toast in a dry skillet until brown.  Place cooked lentils in a food processor with roasted walnuts, sautéed onions and a few dashes of vinegar.  Add olive oil a tablespoon at a time and process until smooth and desired consistency and thickness.  Season to taste with vinegar and serve at room temperature.

Enjoy!
