having gratitude this season

Gratitudes and Life Lessons

As 2024 winds down and Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I’ve been reflecting on the year that is almost over. As I’m sure you all are as well. Here are the gratitudes and life lessons that stood out to me this year so far.

Keep Taking Steps

In all the years and with all of the goals that I have, this was a year of incremental progress. NOT huge leaps, but baby steps, for which I’m grateful. In my experience, some years are just more eventful, complicated, busier, etc. than others. This year has been one thing after another for me to focus on, surprisingly so. Lots of noise, but don’t we all have that, really. I haven’t had a calm year yet.

Hold Gratitude for Forward Movement

Even given all of the extra happenings, I’m truly grateful that I’ve been able to continue to step forward. With regards to personal growth (strength training, continued healthy whole dinners and regularly reaching out to friends), I have kept myself focused on what’s important.

We’ve been transitioning Healthy Nest Nutrition to stay relevant to me and you and we’ve made positive tweaks this year, making me (and hopefully you) very happy. More coming soon! Thanks so much for hanging with me, so that I can continue to help all of you with the best cutting-edge science in practice, testing, supplements and holistic nutrition.

Buy the Boat

It was quick! So quick. Not sure why years fly by, but the pace does seem to be getting faster, which is making me more in tune with the notion of fleeting time. As I discussed this notion with a friend recently, she had great clarity on time. She said “As we age, the notion of waiting for a better time seems futile. Because you never know when the best time will be, and it might NEVER come. So, don’t wait to do the big things you want to accomplish. Do them now. You’ll always be happy you’re doing what you want. It’s a form of self care.”

She bought a boat! That was her thing and she has been on the water and so happy. I biked through Italy during harvest season. Something I’ve always wanted to do. It was my 2024 boat moment and I have zero regrets.

Make Time to Find the Good

Along with the above notion that time is fleeting, I have been more intentional this year to make time for what I want to do. For where I want to go. For whom I want to visit. Thanks to a gifted gratitude journal from my good friend, I begrudgingly added jotting down the good and grateful, big and small that I notice each day. Some days, it’s a stretch to find three, if I’m being honest, but it has gotten easier to ID the good, even in my craziest days. I think this practice of finding the good makes me happier overall. It has been powerful to slow down and recognize the present goodness in the every day.

Thank You

So, as the year winds down, I send a sincere and heartfelt thank you to friends, family, the Healthy Nest team and clients. I’m SO grateful that I have a lovely community surrounding me, both personally and professionally. Thank you for being in my orbit. It fills me up. My goal is to always fill you up as well.

Enjoy Thanksgiving with your friends and family. I do love this holiday. Nutrition Note: Eat your faves, leave the rest, and enjoy the celebration!

xx
